Birthday coming up and running out of ideas then thought about a bike stand. Just the sort to hold the bike upright in the garage, in the car park sort of thing..
Need to be MTB suited for, upto, 2.5" tyres
What is the recommended choice?
Andy Stand?
Thanks, both look good.
That od pod looks great !
I have one of these, the 29er/700cc specific one, and it's great.

Don't bother with the od-pod, it is only any good to display your bike, but no good at all if you want to work on it. And it isn't very stable either, so not great as a display stand either.
I haven't dumped mine yet but am thinking about it.
The topeak ones that clamp the rear wheel, like a motorbike stand, are good for a small stand.

I just got two of these. Ok, they're cheap and it shows but they're ok. Allows me to clean/lube the bike outside then push it back in. Should save my saddle and bar tape from resting it against the wall. I'm happy for £7, especially as I had a gift card. What the hell else would I spend a Maplin gift card on?
OdPod is working fine for me, just had to move the plastic cradles outboard of the stand to match the bike.
Still say the Odpod is very disappointing and you wouldn't want one as a present as you will feel guilty cursing it's instability.
it depends on your standards I suppose, plenty of people are happy with their lidl and bike tools workstands, but I want a stand to be able to hold a bike sturdily, even when holding it by the seatpost and when it is less well balanced as I have removed a wheel, or even be able to hold the bike at unusual angles.
Still happy with my topeak ride-up type stand though after many years of usage - also good for cleaning as the rear wheel is lefted and so the drivetrain can be cycled.
