I'm going with the family camping near Fréjus next week. So which bike should I take, the roadie or the MTB single speed? Also anyone got any good routes/tips for the area? Have had a quick look on Strava but the maps make it difficult to tell if they are trails or roads in the mountains. Cheers.

welmtb and SS is going to be hard indeed. for routes you could always look at the FF website, but be careful we are in 'red period' so plenty of tail are meant to be bike free, where are you staying exaclty?

east bound of the massif de l'ésterel there is plenty of trail from previous version of the Razorbike enduro, careful not your typical English enduro, doable on a SS but as I said very hard.

Of those two bikes definitely the roadie. The generally dry, loose rocky trails in the area will be a nightmare to climb on a ss imo.

How steep are the trails and how high are the mountains round there generally? I usually use my SS in the mountains in this part of Germany without problems and the mountains are generally around 1000m high.
