I'm wanting to lower the gearing on a light touring bike (Salsa Vaya) fitted with a shimano 105 triple set up. I want to go to about 34T on the back. I know I need a 9sp MTB rear mech, rather than 10 speed. Shimano seems to do quite a few - M591, M592, XT771, XT772. What's the difference between them (apart from the XT stuff is more expensive)?

Buy a lindarets road link and keep your current set up. heres mine in single ring mode. Thats a 10sp short road mech running a 11-40 cassette sweetly.

According to the blurb, the road link doesn't work with triples, unfortunately.
