Float RLC 140 QR15 - may not be within budget though mine cost £350 new (shop around). Much better (stiffer, better damped) than the old Revelations they replaced.

i take it your old revs were qr stuartie_c?

if you want plush then go for a coil fork, its a shame fox dont put high and low speed compression on their 32 forks but the rlc vanilla is still very good.
if you want an air fork you cant go wrong with a float, revelation or one of the new magura thors. shop around and if it comes down to it, go for the one you like the colour of lol.

Yes - should have stated that for clarity.

Is there much difference in stiffness between the Fox 15mm set up and the 20mm of the others ie Magura, Rock Shox, Zocchi etc?.

I'm assuming it's more down to the crown and lowers tha the axle.
I've only ever used 20mm, I was just curious

Wont 150mm be too much for a 5 inch frame ??
not sure how white forks will look on a blue bike either 😕
cheers anyway si

Yup - I think 150mm would slacken the HA just a bit too much and make the bike wandery at the front on steep climbs. I'd check what the frame is rated for too - 145mm max from memory, though I guess it's the A2C measurement that's the critical one.

Whats 10mm? Also you can internally drop the travel to whatever suits.

White on blue 🙂

dt swiss xmc 130 super bling, super reliable and in the sales in CRC for £400.00

or the new revelations 2010 best 5" forks around at the moment apparently and merlin cycles have some within your budget.

or Fox if you want to have some common muck strapped to your bike with stanchions that'll wear through in record time and seals that'll fall apart, whilst telling everyone else how good they are 😀

I have no idea; I know **** all about bikes...

130 to 140 is noticeable in the way the bike behaves when it climbs. I'm also thinking about the warranty if you were to "over-fork".

All moot if you can reduce travel internally. I'm just bitter because I wanted white... 🙂

I also have a set of Van 140 RLC's, £50 more than your budget though.
