you can get something lovely in the second hand market for that, singular swifts, scandals, older salsa el mariachi's kona units etc...

how about a new charge cooker 29er

We have a proto/demo here in the shop, and its rides very very well.

And it gets better... I am doing 10% off on pre-orders, so its only £720 to you.

You get proper steel tubes from tange, some nice bits, and a great ride.

What size are you?

Those cookers look bang on. What sort of weights are we talking about Charlie?

If you can up the budget a little £850 gets a 2012 Trek Cobia , 10 spd , Recon air fork , Hayes hydraulics , Shimano hubs and it looks and rides great . The Mamba is way below that in spec .

The digi scales says 27 pounds.

That is with a reba, so the proto is nearer the spec of the Hi Cooker at £999, but again 10% off on pre-orders.

If 27 pounds scares you, dont panic, its all about weight that works. You see the weight is in many places including the frame, which is steel, so its weight that works for you by delivering a nice twang, long life and smooth ride.

The tyres on this one are overweight, so their is room to diet.

27lbs is fine. My rigid, alfined swift is 28lbs. Charge look to have done a really good job of putting together a real nice bike for reasonable cash. Thanks Charlie.

I would suggest blowing the budget and getting the Charge Cooker Hi, you get better bits, and there is almost no compromise in the specs.

But with all the bikes we sell, if you want to upgrade anything, just ask, its all do-able.

That video is cool, looks like it was filmed sort of this time last year. Autumnal sun. MMMMMMMM.
I am a bit surprised that the Cooker Hi seems to still come with a Dart fork ? Is that right ?
Nice looking angles on the frames though.
I ride a Swift & I loves it.

Nice to see Nick backtracking from his 'unconvinced by 29er' stance in the vid 😀
