Hi,

I'm off up to ride the Fort William world cup dh track for a couple of days next week! I'm excited!

It's my first time on an uplift day with my 29" geometron g13 and I'm going to get some tougher tyres than the dhr2 that are on there now.

What maxis tyres  would you get?

There are 2.5, and 2.3

Double down and downhill casing

Plus shorty, dhf and dhr2 to chose from.

2.5 dhf downhill casing on front. Plus a 2.3 downhill on the rear?

These tyres will do the off uplift day at Antur And Fort William, plus moraine or whistler next year so there is no need for them to be pedaled up anything.

Cheers for any suggestions.

Dualply front and rear.

Dhf front (2.5), dhr 2 rear(2.4).

Would consider an assegai up front.

Thanks!

The tyres need to be with me by Thursday so ordering from Lord gun in Italy is definitely not on the cards.

I think I'll go for the 2.5/2.4 in dual ply.

Cheers!

I have 2.5 DHF DH both ends, 60a on the back. Not quick but otherwise pretty much perfect for the fort, they're not even all that heavy (they're a sturdy tyre, but foldy instead of wire bead)

I couldn't find anyone in Nottingham with the maxis tyres I was after so I've ended up with some specialised butcher grid in 2.6 and the new black Diamond compound.

I've never bought a tyre without reading a review before!

They are twice as heavy as the dhr2 that are on the bike now, so I'm hoping they will be pretty durable. 1.3kg each so I very much doubt I'll ever contemplate riding up hill with them.

🙂
