Tried the Tiagra version a few weeks ago but the 105 version can be had for well under £1k at the minute.

check out paulscycles.co.uk and canyon bikes for good deals around that price range

for example

not aware whether canyon use the C2W scheme (would guess not) but nothing at full rrp comes close to the roadlite 7; full ultegra, aksium wheels, ally frame carbon fork for £900

http://www.canyon.com/_uk/roadbikes/bike.html?b=2500

This half price Giant at CRC is better value than a full rrp bike bought thru the C2W (C2W less valuable since the loss of the VAT exemption)

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=84316

and search on here, theres "what road bike" threads every week or so and £1K is the main price point thanks to the cyclescheme.

google cyclingplus review from a few months ago - they tested a heap of 1k road bikes and Giant Defy 105 was a clear winner

For that money you would be hard to beat planet x - carbon road bike with sram red on it for around the 1000 mark last time I checked.
