What helmet lights at around £100 are good at the moment?
Most of the round ups I find on-line are either old and most of the lights aren't for sale any more, or recommend outbound lights which cost too much after shipping.
What are you using? What would you like to try?
Guess the normal questions are for what type of riding and for what sort of duration?
Normal light threads tend to follow the standard 'invest in Exposure' which Im sure is good advice but for those without quite such deep pockets, I'll go with the other typical answer of recommending what Ive got which is the newer Chilli Tech Pro:
CREE Capsule Pro Helmet Light – 1100 Lumens - Chilli Technology
Weirdly you cant seem to get to the newer version when you go just to the chilli tech website.
I use it either twinned with a Raveman PR2400 on the bars or just as a single light for emergency if I ride at dusk and stay out longer than intended (plus as it takes standard 18650 batteries, its easy to carry spares)
You could possbly contact this seller….
and see if they could list one of these…
Much more palatable shipping cost through the eBay programme.
Thanks for the Chilli Tech link, I’ve gone for one of those, my current light weighs 50%+ more than that, so hopefully the Chilli will be better on my helmet.
Gloworm are bringing out a self contained light. Currently 15% off pre orders makes it £115
I used to have the old version with separate battery but it's fail point were the cables where you had to send it to smudge at mtbbatteries to fix.
The lights themselves were superb so a self contained light should be excellent.
If you can go a bit more (£135 I think?), then the Four4th Scorch. Very good, simple, bright and swappable batteries, so you can do longer night rides without turning it down.

On the face of it this looks good but it's quite heavy for a helmet light and the helmet bracket is the naff go pro esque slide/clip in type which raises the light above the helmet amplifying the weight.
My Four4th Scorch is superb though the switch can be a pain with gloves on - I think the newer option with a proper switch may be a little better but the light mine puts out is great.
I'm a big Gloworm fan - have an x1, x2 and Xs so their new lamp should be good but TBH I think it's hard to look further than the Scorch or an Exposure joystick/diablo (from their outlet with the STW discount prices) ATM.
Because i was interested in this question i did some googling. Winstanleys have the axis for £129
The other thing that popped up was the sigma buster 700

In classic 'recommend what you have' STW style Ive just purchased a Knog Blinder Pro 1300 and helmet mount, used it in anger for the first time last night.
Very impressed so far. good spread of light, the light sits quite low on the helmet so doesn't look utterly daft, the design of the light and mount allows you to move about to find a good neutral balance point as well.
Feels quite robust and well made, so far so.good.
They can be found online for about £100 including mount.
As someone who has been through loads of lights over the years (MTB & road) just spend/save the extra money and buy Exposure lights
I've got a Diablo and a 6 pack which are 5 years old and still going strong, along with a set of 3 year old Trace and TraceR lights for the road bike which get used daily
I've had zero issues with them, great run time and brightness, no battery packs to mess about with, great customer service and easy to get repaired if you do have an issue
2nd hand on Facebook marketplace is a good place to look, there's a mk14 Joystick for £75, the latest version which is a mk17 is £170 from Exposure
There is also a mk12 diablo for £110, the latest version is the mk15 and costs £240 from Exposure so some good savings to be had
Thanks everyone. There's plenty of options there, I'll have a poke about and see what ones I like the look of.
How is there Knog Blinder Pro 1300 for weight? Does it bounce around much?
As above, if you can't afford an Exposure get a second hand Exposure
I'd agree with Exposure, I've got a Mk13 Joystick and it's still working great so 2nd hand should be fine. I didn't realise how much they've gone up in price
