I must have seen it a hundred times since I last used it, but now I need it the damn thing is nowhere to be found. Not in the usual hiding places. I’m worried my wife might actually have a point about being more organised!

Abducted by aliens. They have bicycles as well.

My sons probably got it. He's got mine, and my cable cutters, shock pump, chain breaker and loads more....

Under the fridge.

Ahhh the much maligned fridge suck. You can lose a whole LLS enduro bike under a beer fridge if you blink at the wrong moment.

It's not in your box of sailing dinghy spare parts is it? I spent hours looking for my metric spanners last weekend and they were hidden under the rudder bushings. They don't even fit anything on the boat as far as I can recall!

Just buy another one and it will magically appear, probably in the last place you looked too. Always seems to work for me.

I recently found the lost Kona bearing spacer from three bikes ago hiding in the imperial tap and die set… so I suggest you check your Monopoly set.

I've bought a whole lot of them over the years, but without fail the only ones I can ever find are the 3 that came in my cheapo Lifeline toolkit back in 2009. Every other one vanishes, these are inevitable.

Mine was on top of the tub of wipes I have in the garage, after being interrupted during wheel truing it was awol, I only found it as I gave up after 10 mins of searching and decided to clean my hands before going back to the house.

Take a twopence coin (remember cash?) and file a slot in it, job done!

Well I’ve drawn a total blank on this one. Nowhere to be found.

Although the search did turn up the long lost radiator key; every cloud!

Genuinely might try the 2p idea for this given how often it’s needed.

Lost my spoke key too, tried the 'it will turn up if you buy a new one' but it hasn't worked and I can't find my spoke ruler thing either now 🙄

Cutlery drawer in the kitchen - that's where my lost micro sd card was hiding...

That method worked brilliantly for my 1 1/8" to 1.5" headset adapter
