Going to ride the C2C over christmas on the sustrans C2C route. I want minimal hassle and faf. Can anyone recommend some kind of bunkhouse or the like at a half war point or even a b&b.
Nenthead Mines bunkhouse?
no idea if it's open all year round or not though
They may not be quite half way as we did it over three days but I can recommend the barrington bunkhouse and mains farm (kirkoswald), both were excellent.
The bunkhouse had use of a small stocked kitchen and the farm did an excellent bacon sandwich.
Plenty of B&B in Alston, thats a good half way point and there are a few shops and take-aways for dinner, something you need to consider as bunkhouses tend to be further out of towns.
