Planning a weekend in Wales in September and need to find some accommodation in the area. Thinking of doing Coed-Y-Brenin and an uplift at Antur. Cheaper the better 😉
Where would you guys recommend? Need to sleep about 6-8 for 1 night only
Cheers
Steve

The Vagabond hostel in Betws y Coed? You can walk to the bars/pubs/fooderies, it's got nice showers and bike storage.

We stayed in Plas Curig last weekend, and they were great. Unfortunately it's 10 minutes further away than Betws y Coed, so probably too far away for you!

Slightly OT - was my first time ay C-y-B and we did Tawr Du. Don't bother - that trail is ****ing dreadful. Fireroad all the way up, and then back down on more fireroad! What a waste of 90 minutes 👿

We stayed at the Oakley Arms. Rooms in the main building or self catering apartments out the back. Reasonable food in the pub. Easy drive to Coed. We used it when hiking in Snowdonia. There where a few MTBers there too.

The review below about the Trotter's flat made me laugh, the bar decor certainly isn't flash ! there is a review of mine on there from our trip a while back.

I'll second bandbinsnowdonia (Capel Pisgah) in BF.
Stayed twice last year and will be again in Sept as doing Antur again - converted church with secure internal bike storage.
There are probably cheaper but the rooms are great, Glenys is as mad as a box of frogs and the brekky is top drawer. Beers out in BF not actually too fearsome either 😉

Cae Gwyn Farm was great the last time I stayed, it's about a 10 minute from the the main car park.

Stayed here in May with 7 others, fantastic house which is only 5 minutes from Coed y brenin. Not the cheapest out of all the above though but worth it for it's unique character.

Dafydd and Sian ex Coed y Brenin cafe owers will look after you.
Run by mountain bikers and if Daf's in the mood he'll take you round Coed y Brenin.
Good luck in keeping up with him mind.

+1 for Cae Gwyn. 5 mins ride from coed entrance and owners will run you to the pub for a £1 or so each in the evening!
