As title really, planning a week in the lakes later in the year and Ambleside looks pretty central, is there anywhere anyone would recommend. Don't think I fancy camping for more then a few days so indoors would be an advantage

The Youth Hostel on the lake is really good, quite cheap and has secure bike storage.
very impressed with a recent stay at 'the lake house'. Didnt check out their bike facilities and might be a bit too nice if your after a boys weekend vibe!

Can vouch for the YHA, but book soon as the rooms get taken before the dorms. Ask Biketreks re: B&Bs - they should know which are bike friendly.
