Going for 10 days for a wedding and keen to get out of the city. Seems like there are a few bike hire places in the city so i need to know where to ride! Any suggestions appreciated!
Thanks

10 days is a long time there without at least hiring a car for a couple of them. Couple of days in Boston, day in Cambridge, ferry over to Province Town for a day (or an overnight, but you should really google it first). Train to New York for a couple of days might be a little excessive (but worthwhile).

What time of year are you going over? Lots of nice beachy places to the North and round at Newport and the like, but definitely would want/need a car

Can't you hire a car? It's what I'd be doing.

Next week. It’s for a wedding so I’ll only have a day I can spend away from extended family!

9 days of wedding stuff? Sure you wont be doing a load of hanging around?

Weather is very like here at the moment, cutting around the city on a bike isn't going to be much fun. All the sea-sidey places are pretty closed over winter. You do like shopping dont you?

Trying to avoid the shopping and hanging about. Could hire a car if I have to. If I did, where should I go?

Doesn't really matter, but you could try I think it's Budget that has a random car option which is cheap and you might get a fancy motor. Also take a look at collision damage waiver insurance (CDW) if you want a car for more than a few days. It costs you much less than buying CDW from the hire company which be as much as your rental fee, and won't be advertised.

But for one day it's probably not worth it. Just go to budget.com or whatever it is and click through.

There is some great riding in NE but you will need a car.
The centre of Boston is very walkable and has good public transport but as soon as you get outside the 95 which acts as a ring road, life becomes tricky without a car.

If you'll only have one day you might find there are easier fun things to do with just 1 spare day.

Also, it's about to get very cold and very snowy in New England about now.
