I'm in the process of building a light 24" wheel MTB for my soon to be 8 year old son/best mate/biking pal.
I've bought a Carrera Blast 24" as a donor bike/frame, I've stripped it bare (All the stuff is for sale if you need anyting... http://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/carrera-blast-24-wheel-mtb-%E2%80%93-fs-wheels-drive-train-brakes-sus-forks-1 ) and preped it for powder coating.
I've literally bought brand new for every other component - started the collection about a year ago so got some bargains - the only thing I need to get the bike finished is the spokes/nips for the wheels.
I've got Novatec D771SB D772SB 32h Hub Kit and Stans Crest 24" 32h rims.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get the spokes/nips at the right money?
Thanks,
John
Rose bikes
measure then go buy after a search for the spoke length.
Try SJS Cycles, spokes in most lengths and flavours. They do some straight gauge spokes (with nipples) for a great price.
I was just going to recommend Tarty Bikes. They supplied the spokes and hub for my second wheel build. Bloody nice chaps.
Good luck with this John. Post some pictures when done.
I just used my local shop and they ordered the spokes in.
I got them built up for £30 a wheel including black DB spokes and nipples.
Thanks lads.....
Got my Planet X mechanic on it now...
I'll defo post some photos of the wheels/bike when I'm done.
Cheers,
John
