Hi,

Anyone know a shop that has a good selection of road bike shoes to try on - in/near Manchester?

I guess Evans has some - but anywhere else too?

I want to try a few different brands on because I have wide feet.

Thanks for any help.

I’ve got wide feet and ended up getting Cube shoes from Cycle Factory in Todmorden. Near(ish) to Manchester.

Not that near but a well stocked shop with knowledge on fitting them is RXM Custom in Huthwaite.

Sorted me out with some very nice Lake MX241 wide.

All they do is cycling shoes so I can't think of anyone better.

Harry Hall perhaps (no idea what they have in stock) or Rick Green in Handforth.

As a Manc with wide feet I haven’t seen any shops with any decent stock of wide shoes in stock. I just buy online from somewhere that does decent returns (Merlin and Sigma for the last few pairs).

Think I had three visits in total, none under an hour before I got the MX241 wide (in green camo - which I didn't think was available in wide). David has the patience of a Saint.

David came to my house and did a fitting in my garage during a semi lockdown period! I would thoroughly recommend RXM custom. He really knows his stuff and is willing to put a lot of effort in to make sure you get the right shoes.

I went to Merlin last time I needed to try road shoes on.

Got some Shimano ones in a wide version.

That's not far from MCR, and you can combine it with a ride up this way if you need to justify it.

We're talking road shoes. He needs the patience of a Dura Ace.
