So I'm in the market for a new bike, having broken my this week. On my list of places to buy from so far are...
1. LBS (heading out this weekend)
2. STW forums (eyes constantly peeled)
3. Pinkbike
4. Ebay (at a push)
Anywhere else I should add to the list? Not decided yet if to go new or secondhand (or even what type of bike to be honest) hence the range of places.
So what other hidden gems are there?
If you decide on new, Option 1 is the only real way to go, IMO

Don't you first have to decide what you want the bikes name to be?
Decide what you want and then scour the web for the best price, service etc.

gumtree if you have no moral fibre (they seem to all be stolen)
id go with LBS but then i have at least 2-3 that I would trust to buy a bike off. even not very local BS is often worth while if its a good shop with a good rep. (my prefered LBS is about 40mins away even if there is a bike shop 10 mins walk away)
