Fancy going for a ride this Sunday if the weather is good, my usual is Cannock but I can't really be arsed with that as I always end up going there. I'm based in Northamptonshire (East Midlands). Suggestions for somewhere not too far away? I don't have my suspension forks at the minute so must be doable with rigids, XC based I guess.

Actually my forks might be back tomorrow (hopefully) so maybe some downhill/freeridey stuff might be worth a go! How's Kinver? Doesn't look too far away.

Kinver rubbish? How very dare you...
Well depends, if you mean the DH @ Kinver then yes it probably is quite rubbish in the scheme of things. It's only a small area and not the longest from top to bottom, but does have quite a few enthusiasts making scarry jumpy things.
If were talking XC, then it's fine, not sure it worth travelling all the way over from Northhampton though - that and you'd need a guide to get the best out of it.

I've no idea where Kinver even is. I just thought I'd make some similarly constructive comments to tom as he did in the threads below...

Give Woburn a bash....or is this as hammered as Cannock?

Was thinking woburn but I was a little disappointed last time I went.. seems like you need to go with someone who knows it to get the best out of it.

So any suggestions? Got my forks back so I'm thinking of just going to the local jumps to try and regain any jumping mojo I once had.

How about setting off nice and and early and coming up to Stainburn in sunny Yorkshire.

It's dig day tomorrow with a BBQ and pump track session to follow. Come for a ride, scare yourself a bit, get some free advice on the secret bits and then throw a sausage or two on the barbie?

I'd have shown you round my secret Shropshire stuff but seeing as you said bikes with flat bars are ugly I won't now. 😉
