You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
So I've ordered a new bike from Bikeinn (the process has been great actually..they even refunded me the difference when the price dropped mid transit)..
I've had the "your bike has been shipped" email, with a link to click to track. This was on the 27th..
However, the link doesn't work, and the consignment number isn't recognised by Dachser (the tracking company it say it uses)...
And Bikeinn just say "it'll be there in a few days" when I alert them to the broken tracking link.
I understand Bikeinn transfer the package to the UK 'internally', THEN post out from the UK..
Is it's on these fine shores I guess...??
DrP
Edit - will do a post about the NBD when it arrives and i've swapped a few bits!

One of our suppliers used Dachser for a few months. All of our orders would disappear for weeks on end, and then just arrive randomly, with no tracking info and certainly no warning. The supplier stopped using them after we complained for a few weeks...
It's always pretty nerve wracking when the things in transit. Shipped over a weekend though so I guess, so might be delayed a bit by that.
What bike is it?
Spesh Epic?
New wheels? It's a pretty light bike already isn't it?
New wheels? It’s a pretty light bike already isn’t it?
Unless you go for the sworks model it seems they all come with fairly heavy stock alu wheels..
I've gone for some lighter carbon wheels, and will tubeless the typres.. should knock poss a kg off the weight...
Carbon bars as well...
and... it's UDH... so you know what that means....

Ooo welcome to the club. Loving my epic EVO. Let’s start some weight weenieism then. In its stock comp build (converted to tubeless) I’ve weighed mine at 12kg.
I’m forcing myself to leave it stock for the year, but those wheels definitely look like the place to start. Front wheel with tyre is 2kg.
Hope it arrives soon.
I thought this was going to be some kind of picture based teaser, along the lines of the 'name that cairn' thread a while ago!
Could you do a Where's Wally thread when your bike does eventually turn up?
I bought at Spesh Diverge 9R Frameset from Bikeinn - same issue - took about 3 weeks
I bought some audio pro speakers in the outlet sale, shipped with dachser to my house in spain. I tracked them all the way from sweden to barcelona, wooppeee i thought i ll have them tomorrow as my flight was leaving soon and I had booked them on as hold luggage. Then they went back...to Germany.
I got nowhere chasing them, they did turn up about 2 weeks later. I think it took about a month in transit, tracking was useless.
Good luck
Im in Ireland... my Fairligt frame
went fom Fairlight to London. I paid the VAT/Duty, and it immediately went to...er....Northern Finland. Eventually to Helsinki, Eindhoven and finally Dublin. Was sure it was gone.
Oof., Doesn't sound good!

☝☝yep, mine's a 2020 Evo Comp and it still feels so fast and so much fun. Did the tubeless thing, but haven't changed the alu roval wheels.
don't forget to cut the lawn and do your pointing ready for when it does arrive
Oh yeah...stw standards to maintain!
Trouble is, we're away in holiday next week... Wonder if the neighbours wouldn't mind house sitting in anticipation of a big cardboard box....
DrP
Email received from Dachser... they've got it... but i still don't know which country it's in... it was picked up (or sent from..) Gerona, which is Bikeinn...
But is it in teh UK now, and with Dachser??!! Only time will tell...
T minus 4 until holiday too!
DrP
Still no sign of attempted delivery!
Dachser tracking simply says "on delivery"... Hmm...
DrP
Oh Gawd, what a 'mare for you I hope it gets sorted. 👍
I've waited a good week to see a pic of this epic.
Hopefully will be an EPIC unboxing in a "surprised it turned up at all and I'm stoked" kinda way.
Is it a Christmas present?
Dunno where your bike could be, any far flung corner of Europe by now would be my guess with BikeInn, but I ordered my new Specialized from SigmaSports. Paid yesterday, dispatched today, delivery scheduled for Monday. Impressed as it was dispatch in 5 days when I ordered!
Birthday.
March 2024...
Sigh!
I've a few bits to do to it before riding it so will take lots of pics.... I'm especially excited about the DYEDBRO frame protection ...
We'll all have to wait!
DrP
Hopefully they shipped it in box not a bag 😜
Ooh…status change to ‘pending delivery’…
It MUST be in the UK now..
DrP
You know its been pending delivery since you paid for it don't you...
Any day now.
I bought an Epic Evo from Bikeinn too! Price dropped by about 400 quid a couple of days later. They told me that they couldn't refund the difference so I had to cancel and reorder. All delivery estimates were nonsense, and each time I contacted their chat (twice) they basically said "nothing we can do, or tell you, you just have to wait". Mysteriously each time, something changed on the tracking within a couple of hours. It eventually arrived something like a month after ordering... just a week or so before I went on holiday. So I haven't ridden it yet apart from round the block!
I went for Comp too, bargain price.
Hope yours arrives soon!
OOOOOHHHH......
Delivery day today!!
Alas...
at work all day having got back from hols yesterday eve...
But.. this was waiting in the porch for me...

Prob won't get a chance to ride the bike for a week or so, as want to swap all the parts over before use... but will do a full bui;d/weight update as i go!

Let me tell you, I'm pretty sure that running around in the woods holding a mech in one hand and a shifter in the other is probably not going to replicate the experience of mountain biking.

If its much like my mountain biking, running around the woods, holding one end of a handlebar would be a pretty close approximation though, mainly it's just the weight and cost saving that would be a noticeable difference.

I'd have them both in a fanny pack...

oooh...oohh.....
it arrived in the BIGGEST bike box i've seen..on a pallette!
Bike just rolled out!
Here it is stock - 12.45kg

In a random and lucky twist of fate, a mate of mine had JUST ordered a replacement GX drivetrain from tweeks for £350..I messaged him to say "cancel the order!" and whipped the GX off this, and sold it to him for a few hundred quid... beats dealing with the freaks on FB marketplace!

So now it was drivetrainless, I had a few minutes (literally, as only had a few hours last night to fanny about with the bike AND pack as off on holiday again today!) to stick a few of the new bits on..
Carbon bars.. cut to 740mm. The stock 800mm alu ones are a PROPER beating tool!

New t-type GX AXS..

When I get back i'll take off the stock wheels (rear is 2.75kg alone!!!) and swap the tyres (tubeless) and discs onto the hunt/proven race XC carbon...then stick on the frame protection, and we're ready to roll!!
DrP
EDIT - oh.. i picked up a set of teh SRAM g2 ultimates from a PSA on here... more adjustment, carbon brake levers..>
So will leave the rear hose in the frame, and simply swap teh lever and caliper assembly... Can tidy the hoses too as they're now a bit long as i swapped from euro -> UK style..
looks fast
proper mix of emotions going on holiday and leaving a brand new unridden bike at home
That's going to be really nice.
LOVE new bike day
Bike matches the house decor I note 🙂
Looks rather fast that....
It'll be faster with cranks and a chain!!!
So i strggled to fit the cranks yesterday as they are DUB WIDE, on a 73mm BB..
SRAM webiste says i need a 3mm spacer on the left, 7.5mm spacer on the right. I did this...and crank bound up with only a tiny amount of torque on the crank bolt... Reechecked the SRAM pdf...yup..3mm and 7.5mm..
So i drank wine and went to bed. This am i had a quick look again... and there was a ruddy 5mm spacer stuck in the grease on the driveside arm!!!!
Flicked that off, and all fitted perfectly with just a half turn of teh lockring!
Also am jsut running one bashguard on the crank..
Just at work this am (busy bee mee!) then catching flight this afternoon, so yup...new bike say lonely in the garage for a few days!
DrP
@Dr P, sorry, d'you remember where the PSA for SRAM G2 was? I need some new brakes, and was looking at Ultimates.
Thanks
no clamps though, so consider that when ordering....
Or.. you wanna buy my standard G2s??!!
DrP
https://www.airdropbikes.com/collections/outlet-drivetrain/products/sram-matchmaker-x-clamp
they have the clamps as well
Now that I like!
I didn’t read the instructions before I fitted the new SRAM stuff, and as a result the chain is two links too short. Follow the instructions and it’s a doddle to set up.
That sure is a lovely clean looking lined bike.
