So, I have been trying to sell my bikes to fund a new one for sometime now. Asking a a good price and open to offers but so far all I manage is tyre kickers and an attempted theft.

Where do you guys sell bikes?

Pinkbike for me. Biggest audience and no fees. Stick it up and get your mates to share it about.

Bumtree. Cash on collection, email only, no offers. I set a fair price (slightly under the going rate, whats SOLD not offered for sale on ebay) and never negotiate. Is full of opportunists, daft kids and dickheads with stupid questions who don't read the ad!

You're up against it at this time of year. Try again in spring!

Oh yeah don't forget the frame size in the title of the ad as well as the spec! You will still get asked though!

eBay. Put my t-130 up for £965+ post. Bloke messages me and says "will you take £950 and bring to just over M4 bridge?"

Errrrrm yes. I'd have taken £800 lol.

I bought my new one on eBay too. Was up for £1050. We settled on £890

Yep, eBay for me too. The widest marketplace.

I have a few bits on ebay right now. You sell for more than STW or Pinkbike, but you lose a bit on ebay fees and paypal fees.

To get the best out of ebay you need to be prepared to take paypal and put it in the post.

Had my Hightower frame on here and Pinkbike for about 3 weeks. Had 3 enquries from Pinkbike and none from here.

Sold it for full asking price to a nice bloke from Sheffield!

My Cube hardtail had one person respond from here, who came and looked at it, gave it a little test ride and bought it.

As above, it's all about patience and waiting for the right buyer (and spotting the time wasters).

eBay - put my bike up - plenty of pics, lots of description, sold within a week to first bloke who enquired. Can’t be bothered with FB gumtree etc full of scrotes. I also don’t put stuff up too cheap for same reason (ie to discourage time wasters), but equally in most cases I’m only selling to free up space so don’t mind hanging around for right buyer.

Ebay, yes. And don't say "Collection only", cos the buyer will ask you to post anyway 😀

And the STW Classifieds work if you think of how much you want and divide it by 1.86. It's all mate's rates on 'ere..

I stated quite clearly my Dolan SS was collection only. Then some guy from Portugal won the auction...

Cheers guys. Using gumtree resulted in my shed being broken into thankfully the motorbike chain used kept them safe. I’ve tried pinkbike successful before but no joy this time.

I was avoiding eBay as didn’t want to pay the 10% fee but looks like best and probably safest option and hopefully gets rid of all the tyre kickers.

Got a m giant reign 1 and bird zero for sale if anyone’s looking 😉

Pinkbike and classifieds on here have generally worked for me. Gumtree and Facebook marketplace was full of scrotes so avoid like the plague.

Ebay is probably the best bet if you're willing to post.

eBay, Pinkbike and on here are the places I’ve always used. Everything sold eventually.

Ebay, but wait for a 'only pay £1 selling fee' deal, they seem to come up regularly. Takes the sting out of the fees.

Just recently sold two bikes on here. I prefer to use the forum I always feel like I’ve got good deals and like sharing the love the other way round. Would always rather see my old steeds have a good new home
