CRC always used to be my go-to store but not sure they're the best anymore.

Where do people buy things like cables?

Thanks

Chris

I have found Wiggle good of late for cheap cables, pads and the like, tend to tag the odd cheap consumable onto my orders...
I had written them off as useless a few years ago but things change...

LBS. Even with their 3000% markup. Use them or lose them.

Bikeshop.

Cables and end caps occasionally come from Halfords if I can't get to the lbs during the week.

For things like that, Woolyhatshop via ebay.

LBS's are for major disasters, not for cables etc.

I'll usually add a spare or two into some other order. Evans recently as I've been using up Tesco vouchers.

Wiggle's Lifeline stuff is good and cheap. Otherwise I go to Halfords. I would use an lbs but they're only open when I'm at work.

Considering I buy cables and pads about once every 6 months it's no hassle to pick them up in the LBS when I pop through for something

I buy XTR cables and I buy them online from wherever is cheapest at the time - Wiggle, CRC, Merlin, whatever.... Pads from Uberbike or xcracer.com. I find the premium for the XTR stuff is worth it for durability, also have a few metres of the outer on hand because the kit doesn't always quite include enough bits of the right length.

I tend to buy a bloody big reel of outer cable at a time from where ever is cheap, Planet-X recently but that has varied. Same applies with inners, I just but a job lot.

Disk pads have been Superstar of late, rim pads have been Wiggle and PX. I did pick a batch up from the Fibrax stand at the Cycle Show last year so actually haven't bought any for a while.

I buy boxes of cables etc. It's annoying when I need one and the shops are shut, and even if they are open, it's a lot cheaper.
