When I bought my TD-1, I remember there was talk of Ragley introducing other versions, in high quality steel or similar 7046 in alloy.
Did this ever happen?
Why was the TD-1 discontinued? It seemed like a brilliant bike to me. Too expensive?
After Brant left Hotlines, Ragley headed more for the gnarr section of he market.
I thought Brant and Alpkit have sorted a similar bike to the TD1 for bike packing.
He's designed a few bikes for them: http://www.outdoorsmagic.com/gear-news/alpkits-new-bikes---first-pictures/14249.html None of them are quite what the TD-1 was, though they're close and possibly better for some applications?
I rode a TD-1 a couple of times (Kielder 100 and the 6 hour Hit The North) and it was an absolutely brilliant bike. There were plans for an Alu version at that point, I think, but it never quite happened; I hope Pact Bikes produces something like it at some point.
mmmmmmmmmmmmm TD-1 ..... i still love that bike
The description of the Alpkit bike in this interview sounds a lot like the TD-1 (and like my ideal bike, apart from the £££):
4. If you were building a frame to race the Tour Divide on, what would it look like?
The new ti rigid frame I’ve done for Alpkit! That’ll run 650B+ or 29 – I think for TD, you want 29 on though. A set of aero bars to mount stuff on and stretch out for a long day in the office. Some sort of sweepy bar, even a moustache bar maybe. I love those. Rigid fork. SRAM 1x.
