Just arrived this morning and I'm impressed. It's a lovely well thought out bad that ticks all of the boxes they said it would on Kickstarter.....
route Werks bag 1
route Werks 2
route Werks 3

Not sure id pay the full rrp, £150 is a hell of a lot of money for a smallish, heavy (600g) bar bag. but glad I got in on the first heafty discount with Kickstarter. Seems to be Ideal for my short half day rides.

Heh, I was just looking at those the other day, I'd like something similar to permanently store the basic gloves/small lock/basic tools on my utility bike. I prefer that clip on/off bracket system to velcro straps that lets them dangle around the head tube and cables. Thinking an Altura Arran might fit the bill at a more moderate cost.

That does look pretty functional, but would you not get water ingress where the bungee cords enter the lid? It's not clear from the photo's. Flippin' lovely bike, by the way.

It's nice but looks a bit over-engineered/heavy as you say.

Pretty sure it'll get wet in a storm - it's not a dry bag. But I'm a fair weather cyclist anyway 😁.
Most bar bags I've tried/seen get in they way of your hands without some sort of mod - this one with a rigid top gets rid of that issue. Only had a ride around the block with it as I'm out on the MTB today, but it works well.

Over engineering has its advantages, but the downside is Def the weight - I don't think that was a factor when it was designed - purely function.

Going back to the 90s bar bags with Rigid tops have been widely availible

I've used an altura one for touring for 15 years on various drop bar bikes with no issue

It wasn't 150 quid.

I've seen these, they look very well thought out, if a bit heavy & rather expensive, i'd love one (a bit bigger).

As an Ortileb handlebar bag user the Routeworks has the great function of being able to mount a light on a side stub, my Ortileb fails on this as i can't run a bar light, i've tried their accessory mounts & they're fugly, vibrate, cast a shadow and i get glare from the bag top.

Maybe a little too successful on the kickstarter:

Love that bike!

Stupid question: where is the gear shifter?

Struggling to see where the £100 is over a £50 or less bar bag.

Electric button on the Rh shifter. Uses a cell cycling actuator that's currently in the bag on the down tube - it used to carry my tubes and tools too so looks a little squashed now, so I may play with the positioning.

Living up to your name 😉, yeah it's very well made and functions perfectly. But your right it is very expensive - I didn't pay that. Mind you trendy road bike stuff is horrendously expensive just for a brand name some times.

Mate got one so going to have a look see tomorrow, when he told me he was expecting one of the kick starter ones I had a look on IG at the company & got spammed with the Ali-express rip offs which are 1/4 of the price but look identical. Hopefully checking out a genuine one tomorrow will prove they are worth the extra cash.

I could see me laying out a ploughman's lunch picnic on the top of it.

I caught wind of it after the Kickstarter had closed (although I'm not normally a Kickstarter fan/user). Looked like a good product but haven't they had some significant issues with knock-offs and scammers...

Yes but they weren't knock-offs - people were sent cheap £10 bags you'd get from amazon...

I was quite tempted by this early on, though I just missed out on the best early bird deals. It’s immensely well thought out, to an extent that does seem to pretty much justify the high cost—it’s unique in the market rather than simply being an unreasonably expensive strap-on roll like some seem to be. But given the proprietary attachment system, neat as it is, I’d want the option of a smaller bag as well. That one’s great for anything from huge days to multi-day stuff, but most rides call for something that will just take a small camera or two and some munchies.

You can reduce the amount you carry by tightening the side straps, which scrunches up the bottom of the bag - but it does limit the use of the pouches inside.
