Hi,
I'm keen to buy a road bike and noticed alot of posts lately from MBUK/Leisure Lakes ect showing the 2014 bikes are slowly getting released now.
I'm just wondering if its worth holding off for a while until the 2013 models get reduced to make way for the 2014 bikes? Does this normally happen at a time of year or just when the updated bike comes out?
I'm looking for a 56cm (I think) entry level bike.
I've been thinking the same, I see some shops have reduced the 2013 Cannondale Synapse already, as the 2014 has been announced.
Sort of depends on how much stock importers have
Normaly back end of August used to be good for deals but this last few years have been all over the place
Your only issue may be getting a 56 on offer as its a popular size and there maybe none left to reduce of our chosen model
Just to share my recent learning, if it's being bought through cyclescheme then discounted deals become less attractive, as cyclescheme pass their 10% fee on to the retailer, so on discounted bike many of them add an 10% or 11% surcharge to the bike so the savings become much slimmer.
If an importer has any stock left over they screwed up. Your after a popular size. I would suggest if this Is your first bike get the right size, find a decent shop speak to them get a bike that does fit and don't look for a bargain. Look for the right bike.
Good call on the size, I didn't think about that.
Does the Synapse just have a more "relaxed" riding position/geometry? I've been looking at the CAAD8, Allez among others.
Most retailers will keep road bike prices high till after le tour. It's one of if not the single biggest advertising boost they get.
