I've an old pair of 2006 (I think) 426 Coil Revs. They work OK but make a fairly loud wheezy squelching noise on the rebound stroke. they also do that classic old Rev thing of weeping from around the gate adjuster on the top of the right leg. I can live with the noise but I'm guessing that whatever's causing it is probably screwing up the damping to some extent. anyone know the answer? FWIW I serviced them fairly recently but I don't think I replaced any seals.

Many more expert than I will be along shortly to help, but in the meantime I would suggest knackered O rings on the damper side.

A seal kit off eBay would be a potential solution. Damper side only

or both side plus crush washers

It says Reba Race, but it's the same damper on Revs

The leaky gate o-ring isn't normally included in the seal kit

You have to unscrew the gate from the top of the mo-co unit to get to it but its only a small o-ring and should be easily replaceable

I just took mine out and cleaned it down with fluid and then put it back in securely

Ah, thanks for the tips. Anyone know if either of those kits includes the o-ring I need?

Wheezing noise when you ride? That's probably me.
