Hi everyone, I'm new here and I've just got back into mountain biking after a 7 year break. After much deliberation I got myself a Calibre Bossnut V2. I love the bike and I've made a few early upgrades (pedals, dropper post, tyres, tubeless) and my next stop is upgrading the wheels. It's not the lightest of bikes and I feel that this will be a good place to start shedding some weight. As I've been out of the game for a while, I'd love some advice on a nice set of rims to replace the WTB ST i25 32H ones. They're 27.5.

Cost is a factor, so looking at the budget to midrange bracket.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
Jim

Those WTB rims aren't a bad weight. About 565g AFAIK.
You'd save about 100g per rim with Stans Arch Mk3s (a similar width rim).

Given recent posts on Arch Mk3s I'd be considering something else - or keeping the WTBs

Oh are the new Stans rims a bit carp?
I've got previous generation Arch EX and Flow EX rims on two bikes and they're great, whats gone wrong with the new ones?

What does it weigh before and after the alterations you've done so far, out of interest?

Not sure but I would say just a smidgen less than the standard 14.5kg. The dropper post isn't too light but my pedals are lighter than standard and I've lost a bit of weight losing the tubes. Would ideally like to get it down to 14kg.

Wider, lighter, stronger. They picked 2.

Bit cracky, apparently. There'll be a Mk3.1 with a bit more metal in if previous experience is to go by.
