Bought a new set of wheels for a mate from on-one.

They're QR and maxle compatible 'own brand' 32 type.

So we fitted them up today, rear goes on lovely, no issues.

However the front rubs on the disc bolts/fork leg and above on the rotor on the fork leg.

Obviously, both of these are fixed so we can't adjust them, so it's not just as simple as moving the caliper etc for example.

I personally can't see or think of a way around this... We tried 3 other 26" wheels with QR and all the other 3 go on perfectly giving about 3mm clearance.

Hopefully the pics taken from above show the problem..

If it's the top one that's rubbing, it does look like you're using very chunky allen-head disc bolts, compared to low-profile, rounded torx bolts on the other setups.

I've seen quite a few hub/fork combinations where chunky disc-bolts will rub on the fork, always solved by using lower-profile bolts.

Not sure what/where you mean about the rotor rubbing on the fork leg?

how strange.

Stevomcd, I think he means that on the new wheel (bottom pic) the rotor rubs on the post mount of the actual lower casting of the fork.

I would have the caps (the bits you take off to convert the hub to 15 or 20mm) off the hub and check is they are different widths: if they are (and on many cartridge bearing front hubs they look similar at first glance but are different widths, I had this on an old hope bulb), try putting them on the opposite way round.

Fox forks can be quite a close fit with some QR15 hubs, I had the same issue with some Giant own brand hubs.
As above check the caps - if that doesn't work you could shim the disc side of the axle with a suitable washer, take a file to the fork caliper mount or get the hub machined to take a bit off the disc mount flange.
I opted for a washer as I only wanted an extra 1mm clearance, just make sure you don't lose it when you take the wheel out.....

Caps is the correct answer lads...

I was sitting in car earlier trying to work it out and it came to me... he'd put the left cap on the RHS and the right cap on the LHS, they're about 4-5mm different !!!!

Many thanks for the answers (even though i worked it out for myself hahaha)
