I've got a bit of dilemma regarding the wheels on my two bikes and which route to take.
Bike 1: Scott Spark RC900 (standard Sycros wheels (25mm internal, bit heavy).
Bike 2: Pace RC529 (Santa Cruz Reserve 27 wheels).
I'd like slightly beefier tyres on my Pace to replace the Hans Dampf/Nobby Nic combo on there at the moment. 27mm rims should be fine with this, but I do like a wider (30mm) rim with bigger tyres. Ideally I'd like some nicer/lighter wheels on the Scott.
Option 1: Use the SC Reserves on the Scott and buy some Hunt 30mm wheels for the Pace.
Option 2: Keep the Reserves on the Pace and get some lighter Hunt XC wide wheels for the Scott.
Both options are roughtly the same cost (although I'm open to other suggestions on the wheels). What would you guys and gals do?
The trialwide are built a lot tougher then the xcwide… so that's what I'd go for. Still has 28 spokes up front etc to keep weight down.
To be fair, that might be a good idea as I'm hardly a Gazelle 🙂
I bet they come in lighter than the Syncros wheels still?
