Hi..
Can anyone recommend a good shop with a good strong wheel building service? Preferably in Yorkshire, I have rims and hubs already. Thanks.
18 bikes in hope or Riders in skipton are both good
Its winter, DIY, theres nowt better to do. Great satisfaction
Cheers but I want them to last more than 2 rides if I did them myself!
Spa in Harrogate are the only Yorkshire wheel builders I've used.
As good as their reputation.
Silly value really.
Merlin in Preston have been flawless for us too - 3 pairs of Hope/Mavic nearly 9 years old, no issues in regular weekly use.
18 Bikes have done a few sets for us. All have been first class.
Depends where you are in Yorkshire?
Dave Kaye is very good, in Halifax - cyclefast is his website
Riders cycle centre Skipton. Great quality of work and pricing.
Your spokes in York built me a set of MTB 29er wheels that have been fine.

Was just going to suggest Dylan at Your Spokes.
Cheers for the suggestions, some that I've not heard of before. I'll check them all out.
I'm near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
we (Crosstrax) build and maintain wheels for the worlds best cyclists and triathletes. so i recommend us 🙂
I've been getting mine done by Chris at Spen Velo in Cleck for 20 years now. Not even had one go out of true and I'm 16 stone and very clumsy. It's not what you would call a cool shop but that's part of its charm I guess.
I'd forgotten about Spen Velo, not been in for years but I know he does a good job on wheels.
Another vote for Riders in Skipton.
Another vote here for Stuart at Ryder's Cycle Centre in Skipton. Although if in no rush I'd be tempted to ask Blazing Saddles in Hebden Bridge. Not 100% if they do it but after all the flooding I'd be tempted to send some business their way.
Dave kaye in Halifax (cyclefast) , excellent prices, can't fault the work.
Give Barry a shout at Firth Cycles in Queensbury. Nice guy and very good wheelbuilder. http://www.firthcycles.com/
Thanks for the suggestions added.
Andy Whitworth at Try Cycles in Kirkburton is the local 'go-to' wheel builder in Huddersfield. Very good reputation in the local cycling community.
Another reccommendation for Blazing Saddles. Did mine this time last year and absolutely spot on.
Cycletechnology in wakefield
Go and have a word with James at Earnshaws he's done a few for me and friends, never a problem
Another recommendation for Dave at Cyclefast. He built me some Hope Wheels and a year later another bike shop said they'd never seen wheels as true after a year of abuse. You'll get a good price and he's a decent bloke to boot.
Wheelspin are in Huddersfield or Sowerby in Mirfield both have been good for me
Moonglu in Ripon few sets from him now along with mates excellent.
