Does anyone make/sell them?

We’ve got an old dtswiss 3 wheel bag but it, and all the others, was clearly made for road wheels. 275 MTB used to fit but 29x2.5 on 30mm rim does not.

I recently picked up some of these from IKEA. Not sure if they’ll fit a 29er fat wheel, but I can get my 26x4.8 fat bike wheels in there, and my 29x2.5 wheels from my trail bike in them.

At three quid they’re considerably cheaper than most wheel bags. Also available on Amazon if you don’t have an ikea near you

It’s for putting muddy wheels in when they’re in the car so those ikea bags might be perfect. Have you got a link to the Amazon ones?

That’s exactly what I bought them for and they’ve been perfect.

I bought some planet x ones ( https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/BASEPDWTB/selcof-padded-double-wheel-and-tyre-bag ) to replace my old wheel bags that didn't work with 29ers. I'm on 2.5 with 25mm rims and they fit fine.

Mavic used to do them, not sure if they still do. They would take a 29x3” Chronicle and still zip shut.

I've got a pair of evoc o so, they were a giftbutsuspect might be ££ but I've got 30mm 29" 2.4 tyres and loads more space besides.

Beautifully made, space for axle storage inside, plastic hub protectors, good double entry zips.

If I ever lost them would replace with the same again.

Never tried a fat bike wheel in them but suspect would fit and I'm talking a 4.8"!

@rockandrollmark

Those seemed perfect until I tried to put a wheel in them just now. You must have a larger size - a 29er wheel is way too big for them with a tyre on.

Same here, there is no way a 29er wheel can fit in that ikea bag

Hope wheel bag is fine with 2.4", no struggle. Top review on Merlin says fine with a 2.6 Magic Mary.

Odd that people are struggling to get their 29” wheels in the Ikea bags. I’ll measure mine up when I next use them in case there are different sizes. Granted they don’t pop straight in and there’s an element of rolling the bag around the tyre, but my 29 x 2.5 DHFs mounted to an i30 rim fit and I can zip the bag all the way up.

Just back in after checking; 2.6 Maxxis Rekon on 30mm rims fits inside the square Mavic MTB wheel bags - hope this helps.

Bought one of those Ikea bags a few weeks ago based on this thread. Fits boost wheels fine but obviously without tyres fitted.
