After a great day on the bike or even when it all goes wrong mine has to be a toastie.
Out in the Peak from an early ride and back for a chorizo and smoked Applewood one

After Thursday nights ride it was Chicken Dopiaza, rice & a garlic nan, with a can of cider, but it was Valentines Day so we thought we'd make it special.

Burger, chips and a pint is likely to feature the most times.

Was going to call in the Ladybower Inn for a hot roast beef and onion buttie with chips but the thought of a toastie won.

I usually don't want to eat as soon as I've finished riding, so no specific food.

Whatever's closest and within use-by date... nah, it depends on the type of ride: Winter slogs want something warm and filling after, Summer blasts are more a cider ice lolly situation.

The best is when I have some left over Chilli, that on toast covered in cheese works really well, though a Pizza in the sun is spot on too

If a hard ride then smoothie consisting of:

 • banana
 • protein powder
 • porridge oats
 • milk

(put through the blender, of course)

If it's after a big one (racing or longer distance mince) usually some kind of daal or chana gobi, or bean chili. If it's after a quick morning blast (pfft!) then toast and coffee. Good coffee.

Massive plate of vermicelli doused in pesto, and a shovel of grated parmesan.

Nom.

Mostly cake. But can also be mid ride too.

Nothing specific really just whatever is on the menu that takes my fancy. Today was a BLT on Granary, Latte and a pint of water.

Any panini, sandwich, toastie or baguette with a decent filling will tick the box. Normally do cake too but today's offering looked a bit poor

Beer.
Thick dark stout kind of stuff in the winter.
More hoppy stuff in the summer.

Homemade curry with rice and/or naan.

Or homemade pasta with baby plum tomatoes, courgette, anchovies and parmesan.

Homemade stew in winter.

And beer of course, not homemade.

Scrambled eggs, toast, maybe mushrooms, maybe some haggis. Phwooar!

Last 30 minutes of a group ride is usually dedicated to ‘fantasy food’ discussions 🙂

Chocolate milkshake straight after a long ride as I’m usually unable to eat due to eating loads of carbs on the ride.
Poached egg with beans on toast if I can eat something.

Extra large bag of Frazzles
or salted peanuts and a pint of orange squash.

Whatever's in the fridge. No need to be more complicated than that.

I'd probably have a cheese and chorizo toastie but in reality.

I'd open the fridge then start eating the cheese...

Then I'd finish that and move onto the chorizo...

Then have some bread.

Muesli with milk. I can never get bored of it. I could quite happily eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Not hungry after a short ride of a few hours, but after a 200 I ring the missus when I'm half an hour from home and she makes me boiled baby potatoes, sliced in half, slathered in butter, and some minty green plant stuff on them (like, but not parsley). And salt.

It's about the only time I eat butter or add salt to anything.

Whatever crap the local shop at the end of the ride has in stock.

If its been a long / hard day, I usually crave fruit juice.

To my eternal shame, a decent day out in the summer has often seen me smash an entire pack of 4 Fruit Pastille lollies on the drive home.

Tesco rotisori chicken with waldorf salad and a chunk of bread
I have been known to cut a ride short and return early to ensure a chicken was available
Not every ride obviously , usually it will be half a malt loaf and a ltr of squash, closely follwed by some mini cheddars , some fruit , mechanically reclaimed dead pig wrapped in pastry, half a packet of fig rolls and a Sports Direct mug of tea.

I was ravenous today (should of taken more food out) and fell back on a big mug of emergency post ride hot chocolate to tied me over. Did the trick nicely .

Up early and did some trail maintenance and extending the begining. Came back to warm croissants and rhubarb jam with a big mug of hot coffee before going back out to session it. Sunday rides are almost always followed by a roast. Today it's leg of lamb.

Banana and peanut butter mashed up on doorstep toast preferably white, which I feel gives a better gooey consistency

Yesterday it was fried halloumi, salad and potato wedges. I'm usually craving burger, chips and beer in the last half hour.
