Lol the reverse arch is definitely an acquired taste and a nightmare to get mudguards for, though it does come with a half mudguard thingy, just haven't put it on yet.
I love my manitou Mezzer fork on my Ripley they come with a mudguard that screws into the reverse arch. They are some of the best performing forks I have owned & had a few & Bos Deville were one of best before these.
Tried a 29er wheel in the tiktik
2.25 seems to fit fine, but not a 100% test as don't have the proper axle and 148 rear
Rear triangle seems wider than 148 so you will be tensioning it as you tighten the masks, hopefully it won't be an issue.
Replacement frame due Friday
Are there any extra derailleur hangers for the TikTik?
Can anyone who has built up a dave confirm what mount is required to run a Rear 180mm rotor? Cheers
shimano f180p/p2 rear shimano adapter is the one I am running on my Hello Dave with 180mm rotor
Cheers mate!!
Finally finished building mine and had a first ride today. It climbs and pedals so well very impressed. It's been a while since I've had a bike with this steep of seat angle and it rides so well.
Unfortunately as with my thoughts when building it it's too short for me which is a shame. I'm going to wait for the XL's and grab one of them.
**Stealth ad** anyone looking for a Large Dave with axle and headset drop me a message as I'll be listing it in the classifieds in the next day or two.
How tall are you @j273?
I'm getting on with my large fine and I'm 6' 2". Have fitted a 55mm stem and slipped the saddle back on its rails.
I'm 6ft running it with a 50mm stem. I struggle with bikes though as I have a long torso and monkey arms so find most bikes short but this just seems very short to me which is a shame.
Bad luck. It is very short. Rides beautifully though. Climbs so well. Have an uplift day tomorrow so will be interesting to see how it descends.
I descends like a rocket!
@J273 170mm One Up v1 paired with a ZTTO lever from eBay which is excellent.
Great heads up about the ZTTO lever 👍
Heads up if anyone is thinking of installing the new shimano xt m8120 4 pot caliper on a 180 rotor (on the rear), it fouls the frame and won't fit. A 160mm rotor will work with the 4 pot via direct mount or a 2 pot will fit with a 180mm rotor.
May save someone finding out the hard way 👍
Finally got out on the Hello Dave today, a great fun bike, had to do a bit of tweaking, roll bars forward etc but a fun bike even round Bedgebury which is very pedally the bike did well, am 6ft on a large with 50mm stem & Spank Vibrocore bars cut down with Deathgrips they were 800 but swapped for Burgtec grips & am running 150mm brand X dropper. Need to adjust air on RXF34 Ohlins forks make but softer compared to when on Smuggler, running at 140mm
@srm87 that's odd, the slx 7120 4-pot fits the TikTik with a 180mm adapter without fouling the frame. Need a ball-end Allen key to fit the rear-most bolt but all good. Wouldn't have thought they'd be too different.
It was too close for comfort and gave little / no tolerance to align the caliper to the rotor. There may be some slight difference between the dave / tiktik xt / slx but reverting to a 2 pot rear was my best option.
Anyone found a suitable grommet for the seatpost cable port?
My impressions of the bike so far:
Build: Hello Dave Large (should have been XL as I'm 6'2" but I was On-One'd). Superstar Isotope Wheels, Yari Debonair 150mm forks, XT brakes / drive-train. Spank Spike bars. Magic Mary 2.6 front / DHR 2.4 rear. One-up 170mm dropper. Deathgrips.
Firstly, it weighs 15.7kg - the heaviest bike I've ever owned. 8 years ago I was riding a full suss Trance that came in at 11.5kg!
Bad bits:
- It feels like it's quite a lot of effort to get it rolling
- Immense wheel noise on the road (getting to/from the woods)
- Much more effort to get the front up - esp compared with my Switchback
Good bits:
- Somehow climbs brilliantly - I think it's the seat tube angle
- Rides like it's on rails - I just don't need to brake!
- Amazing grip - I see others sliding around and I'm rock solid over the same features
- Smooths out rough trails well - I'm guessing that's the 29er v. 650b factor
- I love riding it, and the extra effort is no doubt making me fitter!
Next steps:
- 203mm front rotor / 180mm rear (currently 180/160)
- Perhaps RCT3 damper, although I can't say I can fault the Yari Debonairs. Not noticeably worse than the Pike RC's or Yari Debonair RCT3's on other bikes
- A head custom badge (anyone know of any 3d printer designs than I could base on off?)
How are the Superstar Isotope wheels? Are the hubs and rims of good quality?
Guandax - Is the wheelset heavy? Maybe that's why it feels like its not so easy to get it rolling? Do you know the frame weight by any chance? I rode a P7 recently which I think has a 65 degree HA. I don't know why but that still felt too steep which is why I like the sound of the Hello Dave. How do you find the super slackness?
How are the Superstar Isotope wheels? Are the hubs and rims of good quality?
They seem good. Pretty sh*tty weather recently and I've had he freehub off to check and it was perfectly dry inside. The rims also survived Rim Dinger at BPW, which has previously caused me problems.
Guandax – Is the wheelset heavy?
I haven't weighed the wheels, but they feel much heavier than my 650b/Hope Pro 2 Evo/DT Swiss EX471 wheels.
FWIW I don't find mine an issue to get up to speed at all, but then I've got light-bicycle/hope/cx-rays on it so they're not exactly chunky. Yeah, it's not as lively putting the power down as a lighter frame but it's nothing massive.
It does however feel somewhat sedate going uphill or on the flat. Comes alive pointed down though and I totally agree with it feeling like it's on rails.
Would like to know anyone who has sourced a suitable grommit for dropper... Was planning to silicone to stop muck getting into the frame
Hopefully clear some things up. I have a large TikTik, been running 27.5x2.4 WTB Judge on the rear with loads of clearance. 180mm axle and boost set up.180mm rotor with Hope v4 brakes. I believe that the medium won't fit a 180mm rotor and a V4 caliper due to clearance on the seat stay.
I have however just fitted a 29x2.4 Onza Aquila tyre in the TikTik and there's a little clearance either side. Maybe 8 ish mm either side of the tyre on the stays, more on the seat stays. Tyre measures 60mm width. Will find out about clearance next muddy ride, probably at the weekend. Theres some pictures on a thread in the steel is real Facebook page. (I've no idea how to upload them here!)
Cheers
Steve

Here's my half arsed attempt of uploading a photo!
Codes won’t fit the rear with a 180mm rotor too.
Also has anyone had issues with indexing sram gears? With the hello dave frame
Hi all.
I have read all the post for a while. The question is that I've bought a Hello Dave frame and it has comed without rear axle and rear mech hanger.
I wrote to OnOne but their response time is so long. The rear axle is not a problem, but the rear mech hanger it's, and they haven't stock now.
The little favor that I ask to you, is if somebody has a replacement rear mech hanger that can sell me, I would be eternally grateful, and my Hello Dave will hit the trails.
I'm from Spain and of course I will pay all the costs.
Thanks to all.
Try the UK distribution for Marino or Marino themselves

Marino built the Hello Dave
I thought the hello Dave and Tik Tik were made in Taiwan and most of the frames before those were Marino?
I compared the rear mech hanger from the Hello Dave with Marino and aren't the same...
Thanks!
Be sure to check all the packaging, I bought an On One frame and the mech hanger was taped to a bit of cardboard and stuck inside the box, also try contacting them using the live chat on their website it's the only way to get things sorted quickly in my experience.
I've checked the box and there's nothing more. I will try to contact between live chat, because don't reply the emails.
Thanks.
Marino built the Hello Dave
They didn't.
Brants back!
What’s this new On One Project? (Brant Brant Brant!)
As its your title thread, tell us what you've been upto since you left planet x for the 2nd or 3rd time.
3rd time I think.
Been full time at www.hebtro.co as things got super busy once we started making denim jeans. Though the shock of the season was the 450 Action Blankets we’ve sold so far.
£95?!
I had to check what an ‘action blanket’ was, sounded more exciting than a poncho. That’s one click you wont be converting to a sale
Though the shock of the season was the 450 Action Blankets we’ve sold so far.
They look like nice blankets, do you make them without the hole?
A new zebedee would be fun 😉
They look like nice blankets, do you make them without the hole?
They would be prohibitively expensive as we’d have to sew the hole up neatly.
They would be prohibitively expensive
🤣 my irony meter just exploded
