A friend recent visited the HQ of Newman bike components in Germany. It was a swish boutique and we'll stocked. He received some excellent service, and sent me a couple of photos, including the one below:

Can anyone identify the silver bike in the photo? I can see it has formula forks, and looks like a alloy frame. It has no branding on it. I even asked him and he said he wondered the same, but didn't ask.

I know Newman was started by a guy with history at Liteville bikes. It doesn't look like any of their current models, and doesn't seem to share any features to suggest it was a prototype of theirs either.

A Scott

I agree it has similarities to the new genius, until you look closely

Maybe not a production model, but a proto?

Actually, no, seat tube is all wrong

Square section aluminium rear triangle, shock through two halves of the seat tube, I can't help but think pole evolink, but it isn't.

Also looks a bit like andi kolbs prototype gamux, but again, not.

Can you cut and zoom in and show photo again? I can't see if shock is internal or external.

Dunno, but it'd be a nightmare trying to get served at that counter!

Yeah, much easier to see if you zoom/cut the pic

I'll be honest, I think split seat tubes are fugly, but eye of the beholder I guess.

You can also see the seam down the underside of the top tube in the zoomed image where the two halves have been stuck together.

Now what was that glued frame the other week?

It's not that arbr, that has neither seat seat stays, (if that's what they qualify as being so low down) or a split seat tube.

No decals and bare alu frame looks like prototype

so either something thats not made yet or something that was part of the process of developing a new bike

Other than the lack of a high pivot, the thing it looks closest to is a Forbidden Druid, but in aluminium...
