Been stripping and rebuilding my daughters new bike to lighten it up and tyres and tubes are next on the list.

What's the lightest 16" off road capable tyre? Some of them are really heavy!

How heavy is heavy? What weight are the current ones?

Schwalbe site is worth a search.

Wouldn't worry about weight, I'd be more concerned about puncture and general tomfoolery proofness as the last thing you want is a cold 4yr old while you fix a puncture or a split tyre

The Kenda 8 blocks are popular with the higher end 16" kids bikes. They seem pretty light though they're not mud tyres.
