Anyone got much experience of them?
The Hope Mini's on Katies hack bike probably haven't been touched in about 10 years. The pistons are sticking, they'll need bleeding. They almost certainly really need a rebuild.
I can buy a set of Shimano-BR-BL-M315 brakes, bundled with some Avid rotors, for £40 on eBay. The levers look stupidly long but for a hack bike surely they'd be fine and I reckon I'd get more than that for the Hopes.
Anything to watch out for? Any better options
They look very similar to the M355s, not sure what the difference is. No noticeable difference in function between them and Deores for me, but as you say the lever is long and can't be adjusted.
Either the 315 is the newer version of the 355 as far as i can tell.
Interesting to see how many common parts there are across the range -

Clarks M2 had 8 out of 10 in another magazine
Front and rear set 49.99 on Halfords at the moment
Agree with Clarks M2, but not from halfrods, they're only £34 on CRC at the moment, with rotorz n everting.

Them Clarkes are grand. Pads are a bit undersize in mine, (or the caliper hole is a bit big, not swapped them yet so not sure) feels like a loose headset. But for the price, I'll put up with that.
i've got some oem cheap shimano's on my 4x bike. Not sure of the number but they are below deores and cost about 30 a set form CRC ages ago. Been faultless, have small levers that can be adjusted. Can one finger brake on them.
