You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I'm going to bike pack and would like to know what the absolute best off road route would be through the lake district.
Where are you starting from and where do you want to end up? Also what bike, how many days and what type of bike?
Not on a bike but probably the best way to tackle the lakes on a sunny day

best is a very subjective term.
That video has just reminded me of when I used to go to my grandparents house in Colton near Ulverston. Always plenty of jets flying by, was brilliant.
Most scenic. I will be running steel with a single gear and rigid. 29er 2.4 xkings and steep hills don't bother me. I'm in no rush.

Road and offroad mix, carrying over passes your thing?
I hate roads BTW.
I live in Cumbria and have done most of the off-road routes. I would suggest getting the 50k maps out, marking all the suitable bridle ways on them and linking them together. Most of the high passes are easily linked together with a min amount of road.
forexpipz: thanks guys, I appreciate your replies.
