I have sealskinz gloves but basically theyre not as warm or as waterproof as the Madison gloves I had before. Unfortunately those were an old "model " and seem to have been discontinued. What would stw recommend?
Galibier Deep Winter gloves.
+1 galibier
Good price too so that's a sale for Galibier. Thanks
If you want super warm but still more or less a normal glove, then Glacier Perfect Curves. They're a bit odd and squishy, and they make your hands smell like they've been inside a dead skunk, but they're super warm, 100% waterproof, and I can ride in them exactly like normal- fine for dh racing, enduro etc.
(the Galibiers don't fit me sadly, they look good though)
Pogies are better, much of the time but I don't like riding technical/hard stuff in them.
Another for Galibier. Will be wearing the Ardennes light winters tomorrow moving on to the Barriers when it gets proper cold.
Galibier here also

For me, if you can manage not to look at them, Pogies are the answer. Wear regular gloves that don’t rob you of feel but your hands are shielded. The only downside (I’m ignoring the looks) is getting your hand back in in a hurry if you’ve taken it out for some reason
I have both the Galibier models mentioned which are very good but aren't quite warm enough for real minus riding weather when I use my Aldi lobsters which are too clumsy to wear otherwise.
Are the Galibiers waterproof?
I'm looking for a waterproof winter option to replace the Endura ones I've had for years, which are pretty tatty now.
The Galibiers are waterproof.
I use them down to zero and then lobsters for anything below.
Are the Sealskins Extreme lobster gloves any good? I've found them on the Merlin website for £25.
I like Sportful Sotto Zero
I find a lot of winter gloves don't have a properly seen in liner so if I need to take them off mud ride I can't put them back on because the line pulls out of the fingers. So I tend to take 2 pairs out. The most versatile and best performing have been the assos winter glove system - liners, 5 finger light insisted gloves and mittens for really cold. Another give for really cold is a 20 year old pair of Cannondale winter mitts which have a thick insulated order and a velcro attached inner so (for me) they allow 'reinsertion' 🤭
I think an offshoot of Hunt have brought out a 3 glove system which might be worth looking at.

Dissent Expensive but look very versatile. I shall report back after winter having thrown a load of money at them - £95 for the full 4 glove system (not all worn at the same time). They look really well made and do feel very nice.
Does anyone know if any of the specialized winter gloves have the same padding as the grail?
Having discovered the grails earlier this year, I went out this morning for my first autumnal ride in normal softshell gloves and the difference in comfort is massive.
