Best as in hard wearing - currently got a pair of SRAM chains, I think 951 and 971 from several years ago which are reaching the end of their lives.
Are SRAM still the daddies of chain durability or have they been overtaken?
I'd stick with SRAM, yeah.
If you get the PC971, I just bought one recently and the cheapest place was Amazon at £12.96 with free delivery.

Can't go wrong with either choice for the money.
The best cheap 9 speed chain is the cast-off from some fashion victim who's just switched to 10 speed although all his old stuff still works fine.
+1 kmc
This is a great 9 speed KMC
from several years ago which are reaching the end of their lives.
Blimey, mine last about 3 months. Well done !
I use campagnolo road chains work a treat and seem to last well
