Just get whatever appeals - if it's the wrong bike for you you'll know cos you'll probably snap it 🙂

Seeing as you're so keen on the BR just get the rattle-can out? Yellow's minging anyway

NS Soda does look nice. I had a little bounce on one at a 4x race but that's as far as it goes.

Pity they don't make the DMR Bolt anymore.

Commencal Hip Hop?

I must say I assumed you had some kind of arrangement with Transition to supply you bikes?

😆 easily done!

It's a properly solid frame, very confidence inspiring. Handles really well on singletrack and rough/rooty stuff. Running it as an SS currently, builds up to 31lbs ok like this, so 33ish with gears?

Cotic Rocket.

Similar in name to a Bottlerocket, but I'm struggling to see any other similarities.

You mentioned this on a course last summer when you were looking at my Mega, so in true recommend what you got style:

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/nukeproof-mega-am-frame-rockshox-monarch-2013/rp-prod81835

The last of the 26"ers, Monarch+ and a bit of a bargain. Very similar suspension design and angles but slightly longer. Mines stood up to some pretty ugly dismounts too.

Difficult, not many good hooligan type bikes around anymore. It's all gone a bit 'enduro'. I would respray the bottle rocket or get a bolt/ NS.

I got a Banshee Spitfire a few weeks ago and it's incredible. The Rune is in the same mould but even stronger and longer travel (160mm back rather than 140mm - I'm running 160mm on the front of the Spitfire, the Rune's meant for 160-180mm but most seem to be running 160mm). BB height and angles adjust by moving the dropouts up and down which is neat. Runs 26" or 27" wheels. CCDBair is one of the standard shock choices (also awesome!) Useful review here: http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Banshee-Rune-650B-Tested-2013.html

Looking forward to a return to Herts with a load of squish and the associated confidence to overshoot downslopes (which doesn't half help when you don't want to come up short on a gap but you're used to holding back on tables to avoid heavy landings)!

Banshee Rune or Norco.

Can send you pics of my Pivot, but it won't be the same as slinging your leg over one 😀
