I have kicking around in my garage a Manitou HT frame.
This frame that has not been used for years and is taking up space so i figure it may aswel go. I purchased the bike back in 1998 and have spent many years riding this fabulous bike until i went full suspension around 2001 and have barely ridden it since. It has been sat in the garage as a naked frame for years now and i'm not going to get around to building it again so it may as well go.
The frame is 16 years old so has the kind of marks you would expect a mtb to accumulate over its lifetime, but it is in good condition. The polished finish means there are no scratches or stone chips worth mentioning, the only real marks to speak of are some rub marks from a bike rack, heel rub on the non-drive side chain stay and some chain suck / chain slap marks. The bike rack rub unfortunately has damaged the sticker on the LH side downtube decal.
Frame will come complete with Cane Creek headset and quick release seat clamp.
A real chance for the collectors out there.
What do you think its value is in an ideal world? Any opinions welcome.
Cheers
try retrobike - search it.
Cheers for the reply Cynic-al.
I've already tried this and it brought up 150 odd pages of results - probably 149 with no relevance.
Thought it was worth an ask on here before I tried registering with retro bike to do some research.
Anyone else?
Stick it on eBay.
Write a good description, loads of good pics. Use the word RETRO in the title (seriously) and be prepard to post it to anywhere in Europe, especially Germany.
Post the auction link anywhere that will let you
The retro market is massive. It will be spotted very quickly on there and you will get the best price like that. 🙂
Thank you very much good sir. 🙂
The retro market is massiveAbsolutely correct.
I recently broke up a 1998 Kona and sold every last part. In many cases, within minutes of posting on Retrobike.
