You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
This is not a cheeky for sale thread! It's not for sale to the general public, but my dad has expressed an interest (he's been riding it for about 6 months).
It's a standard parts bin Inbred - 26", medium frame, newish sub Deore Shimano brakes, bitsa drivetrain that's mostly SLX, old FSA cranks, old coil Pikes that're a bit wonky and some OEM wheels (no idea what they're off) with Alex rims.
I suggested he should just have it, but he's not keen on that idea.
£100 if he insists on paying something.
curry and beers .
If he insists, beer and pie to be shared with him.
My fee for this advice is a pie.
Man currency. Beer.
I don't drink, when I get given beer I give it to my dad. So actually that could work pretty well.
To be honest I just love the fact I get to ride with him, I built the bike for riding to work on which I gave up doing since I had to share an office.
Also he's vegetarian and I'm not, so that kinda scuppers the pie-dea.
Just remind him of the times he wiped your arse, cleared up your vomit, nursed you better, drove you to clubs, picked up your sticky tissues etc. Hes paid for it already.
He could have the crust, you could have the filling?
Cost - A nice meal out somewhere where you can have a good old chat. Preferably after a ride.
If it's your Dad surely just give it to him?! He's been riding it for 6 months which means you haven't so you're not using it and you don't need it
A car or something with real value then I can see money changing hands.
That's definitely what I'd do
Maybe just say that the cost is he guarantees at least a dozen rides with you a year or something?
If he insists on giving you a few quid take the money and then use it to upgrade some bits for him.
Now that's a good idea. It would certainly benefit from a drivetrain refresh.
