I'm giving some thought to possibly getting an "e bike lite" I've heard great things about the levo SL but wondered what other options are out there?

Cheers

There’s the new Orbea that’s just been launched, looks interesting. I have a Levo SL and am quite amazed with it. There is a very active FB group if you are keen to know more.

Just to clarify I'm thinking about something with less assist and lighter than most.

As above try the Facebook group, I'm loving mine. I got binned off the Facebook group as I couldn't keep my mouth shut, everyone kept saying how shite all the standard parts are ! Cant say I've had any issues with mine apart from a motor failure that was sorted out real quick by Bicycle Chain.

Looks nice but no weight quoted, I would imagine its still a big unit as its got E-Bike specific forks and I would imagine the range isn't as good as its drawing a lot more power than the SL.

I have a carbon expert, changed the brakes to xt 4 pots and the dropper to a reverb AXS.

Have you had the latest firmware update and if so what do you think.

Mine hasn’t been updated in about a month so don’t think so. Have had the update on the Creo and it didn’t change much that I could see.

Had the Turb Levo and the SL done last week. Was hoping to get out today to see what the difference is but the weather has been atrocious.
Not sure how they can improve on them.

“Have you had the latest firmware update and if so what do you think.”

I’ve just had the latest firmware update on the standard Levo. I don’t think it had been updated since I got it in late 2018. They’ve basically made it more controllable but less amusing - there isn’t such a surge of power from a standstill. Have only been commuting since the update but I imagine it’ll be better on the trails and easier on the drivetrain.

Just checked both mine there on the App, both fully up to date. They have both been in the bike shop in the past 6 weeks mind you, Levo SL getting some new bits and Creo getting a new chainring under warranty.

With bikes like the Levo SL I’m starting to see the point in ‘lectric for me. I enjoy the challenge of climbing as well as decent but a bike that can climb as easily as my light XC bike but with travel, tyres and brakes from the bigger bike sounds like a lot of fun.

Had mine done, it seems to have made the on/off sensation in turbo a bit smoother and thats about it

^^^^ good to know. I rarely use turbo on mine, just leave it in factory setting trail most of the time.

I've got my name down for an Orbea Rise but delivery dates are still tbc

Looks better value than the Spesh but tbh main reason is that my local lbs stock Orbea and with ebikes that seems to be alot more important

Just to clarify I’m thinking about something with less assist and lighter than most.

I had a demo on one.

When I brought it back the Specialized Rep asked me what I thought. I wasn't impressed TBH, felt 'half-fat'. Not the power of a normal eBike, but still an eBike.

On enquiring what a normal ride would be for me (anything up to 40 miles & 6,000 feet), he then 'suggested' that it wasn't aimed at me, but at someone not-so-fit who wanted to ride with me.

That kinda made sense.
