odannyboy post me up the total of you're order from Sunday and i will let you know the status of you're order.

The reason i'm asking for the above is because it's not really personaly info, dont give me your postcode/account number etc, just the total of you're order and a rough time as to when you placed it.

Cheers

JEJ

mrdomino ordered lights for me and and a hope vision 1 for him. As the Hope Vision 1 was out of stock (we had to get in touch to find this out, they showed as in stock when we ordered), then for some unknown reason they said they had posted my lights (rather than courier as requested), they guy who we spoke to didn't really seem to know much and couldn't even give a tracking number. A few days later we had to chase again, it hadn't been sent, it had been sitting there waiting to be sent for 3 days - eventually it all got sorted out but they are slow.

I guess the correct answer is "VERY VARIABLE". Some people have a really good experience, others vow never to use them again

They're certainly trying to improve the mail order service - but this should be for everyone, without special treatment for people who might complain about them on STW

but this should be for everyone, without special treatment for people who might complain about them on STW

First step to improving is actually listening to complaints somewhere, and they should be applauded for this at least (1st time customer, no axe to grind here).

But I would comment that Sagepay is a real PITA payment system, just about all my CCs require the 3D auth that doesn't work from work (I think the control is ActiveX and blocked by our proxy).. I like the Paypal option that CRC use, but I don't know the commercials behind it so it might be prohibitively expensive - knowing Paypal I'd guess this was true!

Never had a problem with em myself.

Paypal would be much more convenient though. And the google shopping/not in stock thing is very annoying!!!

I ordered various products 16/11 rom JEJ having used them before and to be fair, not had to wait too long, so all good to date. 10 days passed, radio silence...called, was told by an embarrased staff member that Muc Off stuff could not be sent by post because of leaks when in postal transit...the web site lets you buy the stuff and last time I looked, the likes of Wiggle sell and post it. So, questions.... why no communication during 2 working weeks to let me know? Why let me pay? Why actually let punters buy the stuff on line if you can't supply it? Only £20 but you've lost a customer as a result.

@Feldo

What Muc Off product did you buy???

As you can see from the below link, it clearly states that MUC OFF can only be purchased instore. As far as i'm aware this information is on all MUC OFF products that are not allowed to be sold over the web.

If it's a case of the item you purchased didn't have this information on, firstly i'll apologise and secondly i'll get the manager of the Rotherham branch to call you and discuss what went wrong.

All the best & i look forward to your reply.

Hey Dez,

I have just spoken to the manager who is going to look into this for you tomorrow.

It does seem a very hefty delay so i apologise.

All i know is that this product had a huge amount of back-orders to be addressed once the stock arrived which was wednesday and your order was unfortunately at the back of a very long line?

I hope this helps Dez.

Andy

@J E James, I ordered Muc Off disk brake cleaner and degreaser, neither of which have the delivery restrictions applicable as per the link you posted, or if they do, they certainly are not visible on your web site. The non Muc-Off product I ordered which was in stock was never sent either.

I'm not after a witch hunt, it's just a pain in the @rse when you sit around waiting for stuff to arrive for so two weeks, then have to go through the faff chasing and having to re order with Wiggle, who are marginally more expensive but IMO 100% reliable.

Feldo,

Having delved into this further for you, it was indeed an error by a member of staff as to why the order was not sent out.

The items you purchased had been picked and packed, but unfortunately were put on hold due to a member of staff mistakenly identifying your goods as items that fall under the MUC OFF category that cannot be sent out. There was then a break down in communication by this member of staff to inform our comms team of the issue hence the delay in contact.

Please be re-assured the member of staff in question has now received further training on procedures in house so this mistake does not happen again.

Sincere apologies for the mistake, if you would like a personal apology from the member of staff in question, please let me know and I’ll prompt the phone call.

All the best.

Andy

@J E James, Andy, thanks for the offer but I don't need a personal apology. What I was being told just didn't make any sense to me, I'm glad it wasn't me losing it! Hopefully you guys can learn from it as these hiccups put people off using you when there are very efficient alternative retailers out there in internet-land. I'll give you another shot next time if you've got what I'm after, fingers crossed.

Only 15 days! I'm still waiting for some Pedros bio cleaner ordered in 2005/6 which hasn't arrived yet. Never used them again and won't in future. No reply to e-mail or phone, the most inept bunch ever.

i have dealt with their shop in chesterfield and have never dealt with a more inept bunch of muppets. i told the salesman more about the bike than he told me. i called them and asked whether a bike was in stock to be told yes, so went up to be told that the had not had one for a couple of weeks. was so disappointed i spent my 2grand somewhere else (and drove a hell of a long way to do so). i call in there if im passing just to have a look around but wouldnt buy anything from them. my local halfords know more.

walla24 you are lucky you received an email.

after waiting 17 days for my stuff to arrive i gave them a call.

They told me that because two of the three items were out of stock they didnt want to send the third out. At no time did i receive a call or email to inform me of this.

Lets not get started on the fact that when i ordered the items all were stated as in stock!

In the end i just canceled the order and will be ordering the same parts at more reputable business'

JE James are without a doubt the most useless company i have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

To whoever answers this post under the name 'J e james' you must be the most useless of them all, as you knew i was having issues with my order yet did nothing about it. cheers.

....and relax 😀

I wont go into the full story, timescales and useless telephone reps regarding some very much needed forks seal kits. But the result was very simple. I now will NEVER use JEJ again. There are many more companies that have the right attitude and work hard towards providing an excellent customer experience that deserve your hard earned cash.

In reply to this comment, can i initially inform you that i knew nothing about this order until the 30/11/09 when you originally posted your order query, so to have a personal dig at the main instigator of jejames being here to help you guys out, i feel is unfair.

The facts

On the 30/11/09 you posted within this thread a request regarding your order.

On the 30/11/09 i replied requesting your account number.

On the 01/12/09 you came back to me with your account number.

On the 01/12/09 I promptly forwarded your account number to the manager

One the 01/12/09 i received an email from the manager of the Rotherham store informing me that he was going to investigate your order.

Based on the above, a colleague of mine looked into your order, and refunded the parts on the 03/12/09. You were called and there was no answer, so a voice mail was left.

I cannot answer why there was a 17 day delay on your order. But the manager of rotherham can.

I have forwarded an email to him, please await contact.

Sincere apologies for this once again.

Kind Regards.

Yeah lets have a bit of respect for the fact Jejames have a guy that reads forums and responds to peoples problems, havent heard any other companies with their finger so firmly on the pulse!

Within 5minutes of posting up that i was having an issue i recieved a very polite phone call which lead to my problem being solved.

I think that jejames is a very hardworking company who does actually care about its customers but is being let down a bit by its computer-ordering service.

Keep up the good work, thanks

@JEJ, 7 weeks for a seal kit is the shortest version. I gave your company the opportunity for me to "elaborate directly". Refund given, I went elsewhere - Nothing personal, just unsatisfatory.

I will take my hat off to you for posting on here and standing up for your company. Hope things improve for you all.

OK i apologise for that comment, it was wrong to get personal,

however look at the "facts" from my point of view.

order on the 18th
wait 12 days -hear or receive nothing.
inform you of the situation on the 30th (with the exact time/date and value of my order im sure you could have worked out the order number)
wait 5 days to receive answer machine message on saturday morning. (why not just send an email?)

To wait 17 days to find out what i had ordered is actually not in stock and you have no intention of getting it in, is frankly poor, i had a similar issue in april, although back then when i sent a email to complain i didnt even receive a reply so i suppose in that respect you have improved.

Ordered a hitch for a Burley trailer.

Chose cheaper 5-7 day delivery.

After 8 days with no contact I had to call. "Looks like they are on back order - Oh no there's one at a different store that should have been sent over"

Another week goes by and I have to call again. "We'll investigate"

"Sorry but we don't know which courier we sent it with - Oh no it's here. We'll send it out soon."

To top it off I paid £16 but when I take it out of the packaging it says £9.99 - nice touch.

One less customer here

Maybe I should listen to myself when I say never to use again, ordered on the 13th December and a phone call to them to see when it was despatched because of Christmas post I was told they are not in Stock 😯 even though when I ordered they were!! The guy on the phone said, "Yeah our website has a theme for things like this". I'm loosing my patience!!

@Skyliner - apologies for the delayed reply, today is my first day back and nobody else tends to the forums.

Specialized were closed over the Christmas period from around the 23rd to today so i guess thats why nothing was done with your order.

I have managed to speak to a friend of mine over at Specialized and if you still require one of these bolts it is yours.

The other item you ordered is in stock so we can fulfill your original order if you so wish.

All the best.

Are you likely to get Sealskins stuff (socks and gloves) back in before the 'Puffer?
I ordered back on the 27th of Dec (showed in stock at time of order)and only just got mail from you yesterday stating they were out of stock.
