Customer of mine has decided to buy an ebike so is getting rid of her 1996 Specialized Hardrock GX in mint condition, all stock spec with not a mark on it.
It's a large for CV what is worth.
She asked for a valuation, I suggested retro bike, any ideas?
Do evans still give up to £350 trade in if you are buying a £3k bike from them? The bikes used to go to recycle bikes in heeley (now a different gear) who would either strip and recycle, recondition and sell on or send to Africa. Money went to heeley development trust. If she’s able to do that it seems like a win win all round..
Retrobike is the best place for a valuation. 96 makes it the wrong side of the 90's to be particularly desirable, Hardrock always a lower model so I'd imagine max £100/150 at best if it's in the condition you suggest.
Looking at this and the likely spec I'd revise my estimate down to £100 max unless it has good condition Ground Control tyres as they go for a fortune on their own.
