Cleaning products are either washing up liquid or whatever Mercedes gave us when the wife bought her car.

The bike carrier has been used once on a dry day for a test drive of about 3 maybe 4 miles.

Road salt, if it gets grubby it gets cleaned.

It’s the anodising crazing - possibly due to stress/ flexing of the rim, or perhaps just a bad job.

Double check that you aren’t exceeding the maximum pressure allowed for the tyre width you have - that could cause the pattern of cracking In the photo.
