A group of us are wanting to go to the brecon beacons fo a long weekends riding, but can see that there is a few YHA hostels to choose, we would like it to be near a pub or two, any helpful advice would be good
Great hostel near talybont Yha Danywenallt stayed there plenty of times.
+1 for Danywenallt. People who run it are really friendly, it tends to fill up at weekends though and there's no self-catering facilities apart from a sink and fridge. Remote enough that you're not going to get anything nicked.

Not near anything, but have a bunkhouse at work with hose and drying room.

Try also Star Inn or the one over the road in Bwlch (christ, forgotten the name of my local). Nice riding straight out the door and fairly central.
