Hey folks ,

Could you give me ball park on what a reasonable price for the following frame is that I'm hoping to sell on with its shock , headset and BB. I'm not good at pricing this stuff ;

Commencal Meta 5 frame Large 2005 Full suspension 26 , bearings good , few scuffs as you'd expect , no major dent or anything like that

Has Fox Rp23 serviced last summer by Mojo have receipt

cane creek 40 headset put in just last year

shimano hollowtech Bottom bracket

I was thinking £100 but then I saw the shock alone on ebay going for a bit more than that, would £200 for the lot be about reasonable?

£100

No one wants 26" and it's an ancient shock...unless the shock SOLD for £100?

Then youd have a shock-less 26" frame, no one wants that.

I think £100 is a bit lower and start higher given rp23 was a good model (Kashima?) & you say has had a mojo service last summer plus the bb and headset (assuming both running smoothly)

Is it the bright green one? If so it could be one of the last remaining ones that didn't snap!! A rare collectors item

Thanks I'll aim for 100 quid , heard that about the frame too but this one's been going strong 14 years of use , maybe there was a bad batch

Maybe list it on eBay for £150 or best offer and see if you get any interest. Nothing to lose unless you’re in a hurry. £100 feels about right for an old frame with 26” wheels though.

The thing is now is that it is so hard to get 26" forks seems crazy how 26"bikes have died a death where there must still be loads around I sold a Remedy 8 couple of years back and it was 2012 great bike just thought few years down the line you would not be able to get tapered forks which you cant funny old world.

Loads may be an exaggeration.... I think SC last made on in 2012, Spec 2013? Pushing that out to 6-7 year old bikes, as for the Meta there a straight steerer frame must be closer to 8-9 years old.

FWIW I got a 2010 Pitch off here for £100 with nothing but the shock and stock headset.

It's been a pain in the arse as far as sourcing forks thanks to the straight steerer tube goes but a bloody good bargain otherwise.

As for 26" specific forks being a problem 27.5" can't be much of a difference, you're talking 19mm tops. You can still get Domains in 26" and there are plenty of tapered options out there as well on the second hand market.

No one wants 26″

Not everyone is a dedicated follower of fashion.

I must be sitting on a gold mine with my 26” wheel and forks collection.

Ebay has a lot of fox rp23s going for around £190 or best offer , is that close to their actual value or are those sellers taking the piss a bit ?
