Was going to press the buy button on a 2014 Meridia CF 3000, reduced from 2700 to 1800. Just before I did I spotted one in the clasifieds, around 500 miles on the clock, decent nick...chaps looking for £1500.

Gut instinct is stick with the new one, as whilst its a good reduction on the rrp (2700) its only 300 quid saving on the discounted new bike.......but 300 quid would buy some nice upgrades.

thoughts of the forum...

I'd err toward the new one - for the warranty if nowt else.

300 notes for a warranty and 500 less miles on the drive chain. What about the delivery/collection cost on both?

I'd be buying new.

In that instance new. But that's an entirely different question to the one your thread title posed!

Paid £950 for one before Christmas, delivered.

Also paid £1500 back in 2007, for a year-old S-Works Enduro - bargain as it'd been £3600 when new 12 months previous.

It's £300 if you don't barter, but a 1500 quid used bike should be able to be got for 12-1300.

£1800 for a 12mnt old £4000+ bike. Best bike I've ever had. To the OP I'd be tempted at about £1200 for the bike your thinking of. I feel the sellers pain, putting a bike up for sale then new ones become discounted 🙁
