I fancy a new bike that I don't mind thrashing over winter but also want it to be fun in summer. Currently got a lovely bike which is great at everything with 120mm travel.

Now, the additional bike I want is just for a bit of fun. Needs to be comfy for 30 mile road/trail stuff and playful for the woods. I've already got bars/stem/post/saddle/mech/guide and other bits.

I've narrowed it down to:
1. Chinese carbon rigid 29er build
2. On One fatty bundle
3. Something I'm missing?

What should I do? My head screams 29er but my heart says fatty..

Will I find the fatty to draggy for the dusty trails and the bits of road I do? Never ridden one.

Cx bike?

Fatbike will be waaaayyyy more fun than a cross bike. I know. You should believe me. I'm a qualified STW expert because I have a fatbike and have never ridden a cross bike, not even once! 😆

Get the fatty. I'm a stw expert too. I've neither ridden a cx or a fatty but the fatty is the funkier option. What's the point in carrying you bike over technical stuff when you can cruise over it on your fatty and look cool at the same time. Not sure if you need a beard to ride one tho. It may be part of the warranty. 🙂

I believe someone on a fat bike qualified 5th last year for the Megavalanche - on a Sandman, they had a puncture in the race though.

I had a basket online full of bits for the chinese build and then pulled the trigger on the fatty. Not sure why.

Couples Qs-
What brake adapters do I need f&r for 160mm rotors?
What size seatclamp?
Does on-one give you a tracking number for bike orders?
