You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Looking ahead to next tax year's cycle to work given some lead times are still bad, wondering what would be a good replacement for my current hardtail and what I'd have to spend?
Current MTB is a 2011 Specialized Hardrock Disc Sport, but I've changed out most of the components - 1x10 Shimano Zee derailleur and shifter, M355 hydraulic brakes, Rock Shox XC28 fork, 1up front chainring. Nothing special but transformed the bike several years ago.
Was having a quick look on the Giant website (my partner has a Liv Tempt 1 2021) and it seems that £1300 is going to get me a 29er but still 1x10 and maybe an air fork depending on stock. Otherwise it looks like the Rock Shox 35 TK might be coil sprung.
Other than wheel size and geometry (which I know are big factors and I'm not overlooking them), what constitutes a 'good' upgrade from my current bike and what's the ballpark cost? I'm completely out of the loop with trends these days but I'm aware of 1x11 setups being available and tubeless tyres being more modern than my setup.
Many thanks
Alpkit/Sonder do C2W.
Transmitter and Frontier can be had for around a grand with SX 12spd and air forks.
Thanks!
