I have Tech4 brakes and i was wondering what dropper levers and adapters, and also shifters and adapters work well together?

I have ofter used separate bar clamps for shifter and dropper, but id like something integrated this time.

Thanks

Ian

Anything with the correct SRAM matchmaker clamp works, so all seam stuff, one up lever too.

We've got OneUp levers, 11 speed XT & XTR and 12 speed XT shifters mounted in our garage.

Currently doing the same on my Tech 4's

Sram matchmaker for the shifter ordered but Wolftooth currently dont make a mount for their dropper lever to fit the Tech 4 lever so ive had to order a band on mount for the wolftooth lever for now

I've asked Wolftooth of their plans. Their response;

Thanks for reaching out. We do have plans for Tech 4 ShiftMounts and ReMote Conversion kits, but we do not have a timeline for this project yet. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Bit of a thread resurrection.

Got Tech 4 levers - how do I mount the Hope dropper lever?

Which adapter do I need?

Thanks

Wolf tooth lever firs a SRAM mount, so you just need Hope's Tech 4 left hand SRAM shifter mount, bolts directly to any of the three holes on the Wolf Tooth with the clamp removed

Not direct, it needs the Tech 4 SRAM Mount also, which isn't included

ok, i was sure i read it was a direct fit..

wolf tooth pro has a direct fit adaptor included for the tech4 (unlike the tech3)

It's kind of crap that it isn't, given the price.  It doesn't attach to anything out of the box, AFAIK

Which mount do I need to fit my Fox lever to Tech 3’s?

Fox has the same 2/3 mounting holes, uses the SRAM mount

So you need the tech 3 SRAM shifter mount (LEFT) - HBSP325LH

That Wolftooth above is the pro version. The older design needs adapters of some kind as does not fit SRAM mounts out of the box.

Right, the older one you can bodge to fit, but not as tidy, the bolt comes up from underneath

Does anyone using the matchmaker system for dropper lever with Hope brakes find that you don't get enough adjustment for lever position? I am trying to bring my dropper lever forward as I have small thumbs but it seems limited unless you want to run your brake lever at a really steep angle. Am I missing something?

There's not a huge range of adjustment.

This is something Mrsstu struggled with.

The solution for her was to run a right side adaptor on the left.

This brings the lever a fair bit closer towards the grip.

We also put a left side adaptor on the right to bring the shifter in closer.

Annoying that the adaptors are only in black.

i'm upgrading to tech 4 levers, whats the dropper lever of choice this year, my current wolftooth (oldstyle) lever has an adaptor to fit tech3 direct.

i can buy either

  • buy a wolftooth band and have it seperate to the lever
  • wolftooth pro
  • or;  buy a one up / hope tech / other brand and an SRAM Adaptor ?

my good friend isnt getting on with his hope tech one, anyone else not rate it
